About Me

Anyone who knows me, knows I am a “dog person”, I love everything about dogs and I always have. My husband Neil, will tell you that he was checked out by my dog Devon after we had just met, and fortunately he liked him otherwise our relationship would have not started. I am not joking!

I have owned several breeds, German Shepherd, Labradors, Norfolk Terriers, Irish Wolfhounds and Irish Glen of Imaal Terriers, all of them teaching me something new and all of them such super dogs.

My first dog was Devon, a black German Shepherd ,and such a fantastic dog, loyal, smart, loving and fun. A super dog and it was just him and I for several years. I always felt completely safe with him and we had some great adventures together.

I then got the Labrador “bug”, breeding and showing this lovely  breed for many years. I just love Labradors zest for life, they are real clowns and always happy, they make you smile every day. I was involved in the breed being on the North West Labrador Club Committee, helping run Labrador Rescue, judging Labradors and other Gundogs around the UK and was the Secretary of a Local Canine Club organising a yearly show. . I have had Labradors in all three colours, although I think the yellows were my favourite colour. I have loved all my dogs but sometimes there is one who is just that little bit more special and amongst my Labradors that was Pebble (Wilsbury Old Faithful at Overijse) we did a lot of winning together in the show ring and she was just beautiful. When she died it broke my heart and it was then I decided to get an Irish Wolfhound. My first bitch was Ellie (Irdalens Daylight) and she was a super girl, she had the most beautiful soul and everyone who met her adored her. Due to Ellie we had 4 Irish Wolfhounds, we have such marvellous memories of these girls, they are a fabulous breed and I can not imagine my life without at least one wolfhound. I showed my wolfhounds and did Lure Coursing with them, which was also great fun. Irish Wolfhounds are such magnificent dogs, they have great size and presence. They are very in tune with your feelings and are loyal and funny. The hardest part though is their short life span and after loosing both Ellie and Daisy and my Labrador Wilma within a couple of months of each other I didn’t think my heart could cope so I was looking for a smaller breed with a longer life span and was very lucky to get Lucy, my first Irish Glen of Imaal Terrier from Tiina Assinen in Finland. I wrote an article recently entitled “Are Glen Terriers mini Irish Wolfhounds” and although written as a fun piece there are similarities between the two breeds. A year later Jenny joined us, also from Tiina and its fair to say we are smitten by this breed. They are a robust size, as cute as can be, fun to be with, easy to take anywhere and so easy to love. I am a member of the Swedish Irish Glen of Imaal Breed Club (SAIGIT) and the Terrier Club of Sweden. Please have a look around this website which is a celebration of my dogs and keep popping back for breeding plans and news. Please note we are an English family  living in Örnsköldsvik, Västernorrland, Sweden.
